TITLE>RUGBYHEADS : All Black Season Review
Review of the All Black season
(Sept 1st)
A season that started (in the eyes of some) with such promise for the All Blacks ended in absolute complete disaster on Saturday night with another abject failure against the 'Wobblies' in 'Seeid-knee' (Sydney to us kiwis).
The blame for these pathetic results should be laid fairly & squarely on John Hart's shoulders. History will show he is the WORST coach in All Black history.
The writing on the wall for Hart & his fellow LOSER selectors should have been seen in last years NPC. His beloved Aucklanders were lucky to even get a semi spot in that competition. Canterbury dominated them to win twice, they lost the shield to the Mooloo's & nearly lost to Bay of Plenty, Southland & Wellington. The team seemed to match the zombie-like support they get at Eden Park.
Then came this years S12. They cruised into the semi's, but were made to look like amateurs against the boys from Scarfie Land. Some dodgy refereeing and linesman calls carried them through to a lucky win. As history shows, The mighty Crusaders went on to WIN the S12 in glorious fashion, to the obvious delight of their adoring fans in Red 'n' Black country.
FACT : Auckland held NONE of the major trophies NZ teams can win.
At the start of this year, the FORM players from the Canterbury, Otago & Waikato teams should have been picked. Instead Hart's blind, bigoted selection processes where has-been, under-performing Dorkland players where selected in front of FORM players was to the fore. The results are there for all to see.
As soon as Hart was left with no option but to pick form players such as Hoeft, Maka, Robertson etc. did the All Blacks start to look a motivated team.
It is my opinion that John Hart inherited the 'team that Laurie' built after the disappointment after the '95 World Cup. He's lived off the back of a team that wanted to prove to the world that they should be called World Champs. He has shown negligible coaching abilities & a complete lack of planning when the pressure came on.
His supposed plus marks, his motivational/PR skills have even been deplorable. Blaming Mighty Mehrts solely for the Melbourne loss was simply AWFUL coaching. Similar cock ups include labeling Eroni Clarke as not being upto AB standard one week, then picking him the following week saying he's just what the AB's need. Very scatter brained.
His comments in a recent article in 'The Listener' prove that he has an attitude towards Cantabrians which is not in the best interests of our National team.
THE CURE : Dump the Coach!.
Wayne Smith should be given the helm, with Tony Gilbert, Peter Sloane & Robbie Deans given input. Maybe then we can approach next years World Cup with confidence.
Yours one eyedly,
DH

That should stir some people up! It reminds me
of something Harty wrote a few years back after Laurie Mains had some
problems with a few frogs! |
