Auckland should still be licking their wounds from the hammering they took from Canterbury when they meet the mighty Blue and Golds of Otago this Saturday at Eden Park.
Otago will welcome back their seven All Blacks, in what realistically should be another 50 point thrashing. Expect the damage to been inflicted up front. As evidenced earlier this season the Otago front row of Hoeft, Oliver and Meeuws are nothing short of formidable.
Combined with the All Black loose forwards and some skilful backs, including the world's best wing/fullback in Jeff Wilson, Otago should expose Auckland's weakness once again.
It is a serious concern that Auckland have stretched to to calling 37 year old personal trainer into the squad, Steve McDowell hasn't even played first class rugby for 4-5 years!

Carlos probably asked Steve to come to Auckland training after he saw
him at Les Mills on a Wednesday night. |
