Well, well, well. What an interesting weekend!

Firstly I must congratulate the Dorks. You've gotta hand it to the most hated team in the country, they can pull wins out of the hat.

I Kept a passing interest in the game, mainly because the Otago boys are our Southern neighbours & I love seeing Auckland (hopefully) getting their butts kicked! : - )

Otago didn't win, but hey, who cares? Canterbury's win over the Aucks last week will keep Cantabs smiling at least another 10 years or so!!

It looks like the Otago boys are the only team in the country who still regard the Dorks as invincible. They really do have a hang-up playing them, especially at Eden Park.

On paper Otago should have demolished the Aucks. With an All Black front row, an All Black back row & a competent (& sometimes brilliant) backline, the result should have been a formality. Yet apart from some scrumagging dominance, especially before 'Grandad McDowell' came on, the Scarfies looked over-awed.

Tony Brown's waterfall of blood from a severely broken honker (nose that is) seemed to affect the confidence of the team. Just shows how critical having a confident pivot is to the success of a team. Randall's confidence appears shattered after being under Napolean Harts wing. He is a very talented player & will one day be a great All Black captain (which he will be under a BETTER coach).
