OTTTTTAAAAAAAAAAAGOOOOOOO!

Well done the Blue & Golds!

In usual Canterbury tradition, if the Cantabs are out of contention, you always support any South Island team against any North Island team.

Having the misfortune of being up in the kingdom of Dorks in the weekend, I was forced to watch the game in Dorkland. Fortunately we found quite possibly the best bar in Auckland to watch it. The Cavalier in Ponsonby. Best described as an expat pub for all you domiciled fellas & felleses who are stuck in JAFAland away from your beloved home province. This bar had CANTERBURY DRAUGHT on TAP! Fabulous stuff!

After a hearty steak burger meal we settled into watching the game. A few hearty renditions of OTTTTTAAAAAGOOOOO where belted out in a bar that seemed chocka with Blue 'n' Gold.

The Carisbrook ground (redeveloped) looked tremendous, especially with the 40,000 plus screaming Otagoites packed on there. The ground & people are a credit to their province.

There were a few chants of WAAAAAIIIIIIIIKATTTTOOOOOOO! but they were sooned drowned out after halftime.

How did Otago win with both Maka & King Josh being down and out at halftime?

The tight five, thats what won them the game! AWESOME! The basis for the AB's for the next 4 - 5 years is in that AB front row.

John Leslie showed what a huge loss he will be to NZ rugby. He controlled the game wonderfully well. As did Tony Brown. Pains me to say it, but at the moment (& things can change) he looks better than Mehrts. Carlos just ain't really in the picture.

All & all Waikato were simply outclassed. They missed Willis & Randle, but even with these two star players Otago would still have won.

The reason ia simple....they're Southern men.....& all Northeners are soft!

ha ha, only kidding! : - )

Seriously Otago where destined to win this NPC from the very early rounds. They chocked against the Dorks & there was a fear that they would choke in the big games like so many past Otago teams but......NOT THIS OTAGO TEAM THOUGH.......

ANOTHER TITLE IN THE SOUTH!

This season: Canterbury Crusaders - Super 12 Mid Canterbury - NPC 3rd division title Otago - NPC 1st division title

GO THE SOUTH!

DH

I thought it was very gracious of Otago to take Josh and Isi off at half time to give the below full strength Waikato some hope....

...and then grind them into the Brook!

SENSATIONAL!!!!!
