Oh well. We lost. You could point to a number of factors why. The only honest evaluation is that on the day Waikato where the better team.

They put the Cantabs under pressure & took advantage of the mistakes that eventuated. The Waikato defense was Canterbury like in its robustness as well. Those factors combined made for a tough day at the office for the Cantabs.

Royce Willis was awesome for the Mooloo's. He should be an AB 1st choicer from now on. His catching from kickoffs was brilliant & dominating. Would love to see him combined with Norm Maxwell & the Otago front row next season. Roger Randell also looked top notch with his blistering speed.

For Canterbury the forwards tried their best with the lack of ball they were able to get. The Canterbury backline suffered accordingly. No recriminations from this quarter though. They tried their best. Just weren't good enough on the day.

Well done Waikato.

As for Auckland?....oh dear.....what a shame.

If the final games before the semi's goto form, then there will be no Auckland region based teams in the semi's.
