It seems that Fantasy Rugby isnt extending into the semis...but testrugby is..

Tremendous front-running win to Beer(aka Kobe)  

TEST RUGBY  is our strength as site organization and user-friendliness continues to improve.(I just use FR as a testing ground as I don't <a href="http://www.ntsearch.com/search.php?q=trust&v=56">trust</a> their stats or cut-off times -I've been burnt twice!!)  I suggest we form a think-tank this week to repel the threats of opposition to our dominance particularly  the Xtra Boys team...before International Comp ....and after in readiness for 6N & S-14 next year...not far away!!!

          We should create a RH thread for discussion for each comp. but all need to contribute to make it work for all.....is Messy keen to join in TRA ? With Kobe, Messy,you & I and any others keen,  I think we could make more of a killing still. What ya reckon, Fellas & Fellesses ?         Cheers, BAZ

Your right EW, I don't mind putting in.

And you fellas realise that TR is having a another comp this year for the Northern tours, that should be up sometime this week. It is free yet again, so take advantage of it. I heard the only reason the NPC Major comp turned out free was because they had problems with their payment host.

As for the Xtra Boys, there are only 3 of them with multi teams.

You means why do they split the round robin and the finals into two seperate competitions, yes?

Why wouldn't you want too?  

Managing the teams does become a chore toward the end, why make it longer?  Variety is the spice of life - a long competition followed by a short conpetition is one way to keep it interesting.  And the more competitions the more winners!  (Though that also means I get to lose more!)

How would they do it if it simply carried on?
 
a) everyone starts off with a blank team, 4 transfers and keeps the same points.  And maybe the same bank balance?

b) we keep the same teams and try to use our remaining transfers to cull the players from the 'other' teams, and hope like hell there are no injuries ... and the coaches check our teams before they chose theirs!  (If I didn't have enough transfers left and was caught with a player from North/Southland, would my team then become invalid?)

And would it allow the opportunity for the administrators to adjust the players values without giving some people an unfair dis/advantage?

Sorry Baz, I can't see why it shouldn't be split ... and I can't see how it'd be run if it was.  Perhaps you'd like to clarify ...

You have shed some light in my darkness, T! I can see why some would like to start again  
but you're talking to an addict here and I plan my team totop ones close to semi-finals and gear my trades so that I won't be caught short by injury or late defections   but that can also go awry !
TR have always carried on with player values going up as news of SF place hits home- conversely I will not buy a player who almost certainly miss out in a week or two or there is an AB replacing him the following week,he's got an injury concern or he hasn't got a high workrate.
In FR it is possible to hoard trades so that it is possible to change all seven during SF & Finals. Stones River(TRA) would possibly have won the whole comp if it had been combined as he was 20th in the world with oodles of trades he wasn't allowed to use.
A team is not invalid if they carry non-players unless that playeris sold with no trades left. FR stung me twice for trades that had to be made within 1 hour of freeze but computer froze team I had earlier and they claimed I must have done it after close-up so I guess I'm still smarting.....I dropped 300 places from top 20 because of an early freeze !
I'll open a Fantasy Rugby Think tank thread tonight so those who want to can throw around ideas on strategies, teams, tactics, cos I believe the more you can spy on your opposition as in real game the better you can get or stay ahead.
Addicted players are those who aren't satisfied with 1 or two teams(although when I won 6-N comp EW was my 1 & only...I got incredible help from my Irish heritage!!! (anti-POM!!!)  
Would suggest that no question when it comes to strategy has just one answer that's why I think a THINK TANK would be great..we can all learn more .....When I retire I'm going to be a professional competition winner---quizzes, crosswords, mysteries, and fantasy sports .....given up on LOTTO etc it's a donation for me ...for these you need skill with luck too !
