A bit of a heart murmur for Blues fans at minute 75, but in the end, a first round, away, bonus point win.

Blues in the last few seasons have not started well and then had to play catch up on the table for the remainder of the season. The question now is which, if any, of the 'on paper wins' they drop this season. The Chiefs next week should be a good indication.

Positives to come were the lack of stupid penalties given away and the continuing woes of the Tah lineout.

Early days, but no complaints considering that's the first game up.

Cheers,
Dave

ps: Why is this discussion board blue? I would have expected more shades of red and eyepatch black.

I watched most of the game and really thought the Blues looked great, and the Waratahs looked awful!

There was a late run by the Tahs but it would have been a real injustice if they had even managed to claw back within 7 for the bonus point.

As for the colour of the board it's only blue for you Dave, because it knows you are a blues fan. Wink

If you would prefer it red and black I'm sure we can accomodate your excellent taste though...

Cheers, Jules

You know that little voice in your brain that thinks bad things (and suggests what you should say when you are drunk)?

Well this morning it asked me a question, related to last nights S12 results. It said "look at those unlikely results, like the Bulls winning, and the Blues cleaning out the Waratah's. Do you think that that is an evil omen for the Crusaders vs. 'Canes game?"

And for a split second I was worried by this. But then I actually thought about the respective teams histories, and I realised that this could mean (a) the Good 'Canes team will show up, and (b) the Crusaders will start the season well.

So the worst we get is a cracker game.

Go the Crusaders !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think that's a new world record Jules, about 5 minutes from emailing you that the article was ready to its being posted.

You're not excited about the start of Super 12 are you?  Wink

What had they been doing with the ball before hand? Did they dubbin it with vaseline?

I bet if the adidas ball had done that, people would have been screaming for people's heads.

Hey Barge, I always rush to read your wonderful articles mate, you know that! Wink

Of course the fact that I was in front of my 'puter when your email arrived and had a couple of minutes spare helped too.

And of course it's good to see the Super 12 underway again, and lots of activity and enthusiasm on Rugbyheads, it makes all our efforts worthwhile.

Cheers, Jules
