Wellington Lock To Bolster Counties Manukau Pack
Wellington and New Zealand Junior lock Ross Kennedy will make his debut on the bench for the Custom House Counties Manukau Steelers at the weekend.
Kennedy was placed on the loan market this week and was snapped up by Counties Manukau coach Kevin Putt, who has not had any second row back up this season.
Kennedy is a Super 14 representative for the Hurricanes this year but was put on loan following discussion with Wellington this week.
This would give some substance to reports that the Hurricanes and Wellington are expected to sign Bay of Plenty and Chiefs lock Bernie Upton for 2007 that would see him return to the Capital.
Kennedy attended practice with the Steelers tonight and could expect some game time on Sunday.
“It’s great news for Counties Manukau,” said Counties Manukau chief executive Nick Sheppard. “Ross is a genuine player of quality and will be a real asset to the Steelers.”
Had you heard of this , Gwynn, Nathan or TRA?
