Just been watching the 3rd test at the WACA against the West Indies. The Aussies are a pack of dickheads. Especially that Shane Watson. What a goose!

I think whats happened is, the Aussies have been doing their usual sledging....the Windies players, particulary Benn & Gayle haven't taken a backward step, so the Aussies get all pissy & so ramp it up even more. They have always been like that. Perfectly willing to dish it out, but can't hack it when its fired straight back at them.

Losers!

cheers

.....and hahahahahahha - watson has now come out and said that Gayle had been "baiting" him - hence his reaction.....so let me get this straight....after every ball, or when he's dismissed, watson is constantly seen mouthing off at the opposition....then Gayle has the NERVE to tell Watson he's going to smash him around the park....so Watson gets Gayle out....then acts like the biggest arse the world has ever seen.....oh....my.....god. What a plonker!

Aussie cricketers can dish it out, but can't take it.

cheers

Yeah Ryan Harris looks real good. He looks like he's bowling medium-fast stuff, but then when the speed radar clocks him its in the mid 140 ks! I sometimes think the Aussies ramp up the radar a bit. Apparently other countries use the equivalent of a police radar gun, whereas the Aussies use something different.

I've been really impressed with Hauritz. He's really stepped up.

Have got a book written by Peter Philpott, former Aussie legspinner, & spin coach. He spent alot of time coaching here in ChCh. He wrote a great article in the 70's about how an Australian cricketer can be respected in NZ (this was about the time when Chappelli was in charge). I quote...

"Kiwis are great comrades, intractable and determined opponents, and fierce and aggressive foes. The certain way to antagonise them is, as I have said, to show condescension or aloofness. Big-headed Australian attitudes are as certain to arouse New Zealanders as big-noting Poms infuriate Australians.
An Australian sportsman will receive a fair and friendly reception in New Zealand if he shows the normal courtesies and decencies of a visitor in someone else's land. New Zealanders really want to like Australian cricketers, but, unfortunately, many Australians over the years have made it difficult for them to do so"

A Spinners Yarn, pg 84, Peter Philpott

That was true in the early 70's, and is still true now.

Yet another example of dishing it out but not taking it. Mitchell Johnson last night in the first one dayer in Napier. Under a bit pf pressure with a batsman going after him. Some words exchanged. Mitchell completely loses it!

Contrast with Southee in the 20/20. Under enormous pressure, kept running up to bowl, no verbals etc

They may be good cricketers Geeves, but they are also dickheads.

The funniest thing from my point of view is that Johnson is normally a very mild character and most of Australia has wanted to see him get riled up.

What the hell are you kiwi's doing to get the mildest bloke in the squad angry.
