Well another former AB,
Mauger is heading home in order to make the 2011 RWC squad. No doubt the first of many packing their kit and hoping to done the black jersey.
He isn't the first to do this and who would like to forget the McAlister & Carter examples from last year and shall we expect Mauger to be playing this year by Tri-Nations time.
Just face it NZ, sooner or latter the best side won't be playing domestically and the squad will become an international pool of players.
Australia has started down this path with deciding to select any eligible player who plays in the Super 14. No doubt a few dodgy eligibility paternity suits as well. I'm waiting for the number of South Africans who state: "My grandmother had an affair with some visiting Aussie".
So who else are we betting on making the journey back to NZ to be ready for the 2011 RWC?
