The French centre Bastareaud who was not assaulted by 5 blokes in New Zealand  has made it back into the French 6 Nations side

I just hope he is still on the grog as falling over needing four stitches and nearly breaking his cheekbone and then causing an international outcry.  Was bloody funny!  It does remind us that its better to come forward and cope the blame.  I wonder if he has learnt his less or will this year will he

Lacerate his gums with his mouthguard and blame it on English standover merchants?

Well he is a back after all!

I don't know about that centre but I looked at the squad yesterday & it will take a very good side to beat these guys. That is 1 of the most powerful back rows I've seen.

I'm never sure with the French side.  One game or fire and the next switched off.  You would have to think that Ireland & England would have to be there biggest challenges provided that Wilkinson is playing.  We already know that Scotland and Italy are fighting for last spot.  Wales could be should be but probably won't be in the mix but should provide a spoiler.  Then again if Johnstone can not get anything out of the cracked chariot he must then be put up against the wall.

Yep agree with your assesment. No doubt in my mind the Irish will pose a threat. Did you see the Boks v Frogs on the northern tour in November? The frogs back row smashed the boks pack at the breakdown & everywhere else. If their coach can keep them on track they'll be hard to contain. Thinking about going down to see the Reds v C/saders tonite. Only a trial but would like to see if "link" is making a difference.

Whatched the Frogs v Scots - even though the scores were reasonably close the Frogs pack was doing whatever it pleased. Looked like a test side playing an under 20 side. Bastareaud scored a couple of tries - nick named the human wrecking ball & he's a bit like that - moves very quickly for a small round gent. I'm just not sure what the frogs coaching team is up to but they are sure picking a lot of different players in key positions.
