I hope he has a good season for the Blues. From the sound of things, his first game for them was like his games for Canty & the Crusaders. One minute doing brilliant things, next minute brain explosion. He is a good player though. He might have been better going to another S14 franchise. The Blues need a steady hand playing at no.10. At the mo I think Brent might be a bad choice as he plays the sort of game that has been the Blues biggest problem - inconsistency.

Saw the game on tele with the dingo - thought he went quite well. Wouldn't actually call it a brain explosion however it was an error in judgement.  Could have been a brillant move but timing wasn't quite there & it resulted in a runaway try to the cannes. Think he'll get better as he gets to know the guys around him a lttle better. When you say "steady hand" you're no doubt refering to Carlos!

Carlos was Awesome at times until Wayne Smith decided to rank Tony Brown ahead of him. Carlos was infinately better than Brett.

Against the Crusaders, that was pretty much classic Stephen Brent. He does some wonderfully skillful stuff. But then really silly mistakes. Consistency is the thing. Hopefully some regular gametime he'll get that. Agreed also, Brent is not as good as Carlos was.

He could always try the Cooper approach.  A bit of B&E and criminal proceedings has done wonders for his form.

Yeah I agree Gluck. He pretty much does what he did for Canterbury & the Crusaders. Some really good things, at times he looks like a genius, but mixed in with some dodgy stuff. You get the feeling there isn't much of a middle ground with him, which probably could be explained away with consistency gained from experience. There is only so long he can play those cards thou - he's had a few seasons under his belt now.

cheers
