Well its about time to dishing out the shit.

Lets face it Sadders supporters I'm in a no loose situation here this year.  If the Reds lose its sort of ho hum what do you expect this year.  But if you buggers loose then heads would have to roll.

This is probably the only benefit of having your side slide unceremoniously slide into oblivion.  The Reds did show some ticker in the replay (finally managed to see about 1/2 a game) but the last 10 cost them dear. Who knows the Reds will play for some redemption and always seam to lift against the crusaders (until 20 to go) I can only live in false hope that the crusaders stumble and bumble.

Oh the penitential pain for a sadders fan.

Team line up:

Queensland Reds: Peter Hynes, Digby Ioane, Morgan Turinui, Anthony Faingaa, Rod Davies, Quade Cooper, Will Genia, Scott Higginbotham, Daniel Braid, Jake Schatz, James Horwill, Adam Byrnes, Laurie Weeks, Saia Faingaa, Ben Daley. Res: James Hanson, Greg Holmes, Robert Simmons, Leroy Houston, Richard Kingi, Tim Walsh, Will Chambers

Crusaders: Colin Slade, Jared Payne, Robert Fruean, Tim Bateman, Zac Guildford, Dan Carter, Andy Ellis, Thomas Waldrom, George Whitelock, Kieran Read (captain), Isaac Ross, Sam Whitelock, Owen Franks, Ti'i Paulo, Ben Franks. Reserves: Quentin MacDonald, Wyatt Crockett, Brad Thorn, Jonathan Poff, Kahn Fotuali'i, Adam Whitelock, Sean Maitland

Well a few changes in the Reds, Horwill back into lock and Faingaa in for the injured Hardman.

I see the Crusaders are still without McCaw but they have a better bench.

This is definitely a worrying game for the crusaders, despite not having lost to the Reds in the past 11 matches....Pfft you must be joking, the Reds always manage to get up (not on the score board on Saturday unfortunately) for the Tahs game, much like the Highlanders for the crusaders. But their inability to close out last weeks match (despite being given a very 'soft' penalty try) and the loss of a few key forwards this week means there is still a long way for them to come before they match it with the crusaders. The Crusaders dominated the highlanders in the first half but were only rewarded with a 17 pt lead, they then started to cruise which allowed the highlanders back in. But switched it on at the close for a BP win (familiar story)...Crusaders by 18

Still bloody happy with that game.

That was something I have not scene in too long for any QLD or in fact wallaby game.  The ability to control a game, bounce back when needed (when the Sadders scored bringing it back to 14, I was worried), the ability to execute and create trys as well as take them when on offer (thanks Ellis) was just simply sensational.

Well done to Link for creating the self belief.

A few things though Byrnes needs to learn control and Faingaa the hooker needs to learn to through the ball.

Still doing the happy dance this morning.

Sheesh, what a disaster that was!

Congrats Geeves, because of you I must admit I have a bit of a soft spot for your boys, at least when they are playing someone other than the 'Saders! (Or more appropriately the Sadders as the title of this thread says!)

I didn't watch the game last night (it kicked off at 10:45pm our time) but just finished watching a recording of it now. Like you I still had some faith when we were only down by 14 points and seemed to have snatched the momentum, but like we are so used to seeing from our boys the Reds kept defending well and capitalised on turn overs and mistakes clinically.

The number of knockons and turnovers by our guys was incredible, I don't think I have ever seen them have such a bad game in that regard but the Reds can take the credit for defending so well. Could this mean they might make some noise this year? For Reds fans I hope so, it's been a long time eh?

Anyway, as for the Crusaders it's hardly a major issue. In the S14 the focus always has to be to win your home games and then pick up a few away wins, so far we have done that. And in any case last years Crusaders were hardly world beaters, we lost 4 of our first 5 games I seem to remember. I've got faith!

Not that any of that makes it easier to watch your team getting kicked. Sad

The first stuffup for the Sadders was starting the game with Thorn on the bench.

Then it just got worse.

It is very obvious that Ellis and Genia are worlds apart, and what happened to the Sadders forwards? Until BT came on they were hopeless. After he came on they were just ordinary.

Jules

Jules I have had a number of years (way too many) watching my team get kicked. So I know it doesn't get easier.  But if you will forgive me as it has been 11 years.  What a win.  The domination the possession, forcing the mistakes and exploiting them had me think I was in a dream.

In regards to making some season long noise??  One game doesn't make a season but at least they look as though they are playing rugby this year.  But unless they back up against the Blues next weekend it could well be another one of the one off victories in the year (Bulls 2008, Sharks 2009).  If they back up I'll have hope. If they get a couple of wins on the road I'll be chucking loops around the living room, organising a 2011 season pass and annoying the hell out of the board all season long.

Don't worry the Sadders will be Crusaders once McCaw gets back.

But no word on Horwill so it could be really bad

I just happened to be still awake as the game was finishing. I could not believe the score!! I just assumed Queensland had cheated the whole game, and the ref was the worst ref in the history of not only rugby, but sport in general.

But in reality....

Getting thrashed by Queensland!!?? OMG the world is ending. Hopefully thats the one truly awful performance for the year.

And well done Geeves. Did you create a scene, any (horrific) nude public runs or anything?

cheers

If they make the finals a nude public run is on.

Bad news is Horwill is out for the year.

Great perfomance by a superior team on the nite (wouldn't be falling off the Sadders yet). When we our little group (including the dingo) went to the rugby lunch preceeding the Tahs Reds game he, that is Ewan spoke to us before the lunch started. In response to"how'll they go" he said they will a team of players who wanted to play - if they didn't they won't be on the field. The only other thing of interest (related to footie) was they would tackle & they'd have a good defensive pattern. He told us his family is still in Melbourne but moving north soon. I liked the guy, he is a good solid bloke & importantly appears to deliver on his promises.
