With some activity brewing back on the site I figured it was a good time to remind people that if they are a signed up member of Rugbyheads then not only can they post on the discussion board, they can also get access to being able to post articles on the main part of the site. Think of it like you are contributing to a shared blog, the Rugbyheads blog.

If you have been involved in submitting news links or editing game data in the past then you should already have access to the "My Rugbyheads" section at the top menu. (Note: it's not visible from the discussion board menu just yet, click on the Rugbyheads logo to see if you have access.)

A few of us have been posting throughout the year, but it would be great to have some more contributions, particularly now that the RWC is about to start.

When you go into My Rugbyheads you will see a list of any articles you have posted in the past, or as it most likely, you will be able to add a new article of your own.

By default your article will not be published (ie: visible to others) when you post it, I will have to check it and publish it. As we get a few more people posting though then I will get others involved in the publishing step.

Have a play and let me know either by PM or email if you find any bugs (there are a few I already know of), or have any features/improvements.

Come on guys, get into it!

Hmm, the RugbyHeads site is getting quite a bit more traffic since the start of the RWC, including the return of some old timers, but no uptake on the article posting idea.

Would be interested in some feedback as to why you aren't using it.

Lack of time?
Prefer (or at least happy enough) using the board instead?
Tried it and it didn't work for some reason (buggy)?
Already posting my articles somewhere else?

Please let me know.

To me it feels like a big deal to write an "article". I am more comfortable reeling off some trash on the board.

Some other guys (like Meg for example) are capable of coming up with a decent post that could be considered an article, but if it is that good then it should inspire some replies and comment. We can't comment on articles directly so we would have to start a related thread on the board - it seems easier to have the "article" as the first post in a new topic - which is pretty much how we do it.

Maybe you could just pick the interesting threads and and somehow present them on the front page as an "article", but then if we click through it we would get to the thread?

Is it possible to have a comments section after the article on the main page?

Also is there the possibility of increasing the size of uploaded documents? For some not all.  It's just I can't load up some of the spreadsheet stuff I work on nor a couple of images without arse farting around.
