Ireland 15 - Australia 6 Grin Grin

That was most enjoyable! It's always fun watching a close contest when you are backing one side but don't have anything riding on the result.

Ireland played really smart I thought, and their forward pack were IMMMENSE (as I read somewhere recently Smiley) particularly in the scrums.

The first upset, the RWC is truely underway!

Irish boys, have one from me!

Yahhooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Now we need wrap Ross in cotton wool until the 2nd round!!

And sorry Geeves but after a week of hearing about 12 point spreads... it has to be done (can someone add us to the maybe list now?):

Boooooo to this poll. Booooooooooo! Shame on you Geeves.

(karma may deal you a levelling blow come Saturday week!  Wink )

Bring it on!!!

...Unless someone smuggled a leprechaun past NZ quarantine I think your chances are looking a bit bleak this time out.  The fact that you have the oldest side rocking into the cup on zimmerframes you had better keep that leprechaun strapped to the injuries.

...Your blokes might be advised to contact Suzzie the waitress and put something in Italy's water bottle.

What is it with these UK players and their dwarf throwing?

Excellent our route to the final just gets easier. O.K dreaming hurts nobody and costs nothing.

Brilliant the relentless Ireland of old particularly good in defense not seen the whole game yet, upset what upset!!!!!! Wink

Well hats off to the Irish.

They played to their game plan, controlled the tempo of the game, played to the way the ref was whistling and dominated the forward battle.

What can I say, not too much without sounding like a bitter little bastard but the loss of Moore just before kick-off was a huge blow.  As stated elsewhere Polatu-Nau cannot throw the ball straight.  I have to refrain myself.

Well this makes it harder for the wallabies.  Now we will have to take out the Boks and then knock out the hosts in the semi’s.  You really could consider it NZ worst nightmare.  Grin  Grin  Grin.  I wonder if they will drop their game against the French to avoid that possibility.

Just for the Irish.  Make it to the finals so we can set the ledger straight.

Would have been different with Pocock on the pitch being first at the breakdown. Losing another player just before kick-off is disruptive. Ione was less of a loss because the ball almost never got out to the wing.

But the problem was the seeming inability of Australia to do anything about the onslaught.
Particularly Quade doing his impersonation of Carlos Spencer on one of the days when he affects nothing.

Many cheers

I guess that it was just not meant to be.

Farking Quade, that guy is not better than Lavea at times. Get some forward wallabies and you might be consistant.

Got to say the boks impressed me last night at a masters at world cup rugby.
