Flawed 6N - like the old days, just beat Eng!

« on: September 15, 2011, 11:05:24 PM »

Hi guys

I'm already over-indulging on listening to NZ Radio Sport for many hours a day - what Aus radio stations/programmes will give best preview of Ire/Aus game (either quantity or quality)?

I need a break from the incessant griping about
  • Henry needing to stick with his best 15,
  • public transport snarl-up to the Auckland stadium
  • Wayne Barnes,
  • Eng playing boring rugby
  • how annoying Australians can be to NZers
  • Henry needing to stick with his best 15,
(not a mistaken repeat - it really is raised twice as often as everything else)

Seriously though, there has been far more decent contributions than you get on air over in England.

The games here are all only on TalkSport radio www.talksport.co.uk/rugby - their presenters only know about football and just do about 10 minutes every few hours.
There is a decent Sunday night show Full Contact  if you what to hear a UK perspective   http://www.talksport.co.uk/radio/full-contact - UK Sundays 2000-2200 (so Monday breakfast listening for you?) - also available to 'listen again' at any time.

Hears

Dig through http://www.foxsports.com.au/rugby/rugby-world-cup-2011  for odds and ends but for the opinions check out the: http://www.foxsports.com.au/rugby/the-rugby-club  there you can download the weekly program which is probably the best thing we have in Aus.  I'm not 100% sure on radio programs.

But at the Rugby Club you can watch Kafer's chalkboad which is good.

You're right about that..... I'll only listen to the early parts of Brenda Telfers show (which is when he usually has some interviews with knowledgeable, interesting types.....ie not rugbyheads contributors Lips Sealed) otherwise it's generally a bunch of ignorant idiots who drivel on

Thanks for the links Geeves . . .

. . . sadly I can't get the video from the website as I am outside Aus (just how Tommy Bowe will be breaking in the match  Wink ) and I looked at the  download but the iTunes store feedback is that it doesn't work outside of Aus either.

While video is nice, it's opinions/analysis that I'm most interested in so the radio option is usually more straightforward as there are no media-rights blocks.
