I reckon Ireland, england, South Africa, and Argentina will go out in the next round.
Based on my totally un-biased and in depth analysis.

Very close to my in depth and unbiased analysis on the RWC predictions thread swiss toni.

Semifinalists.

Here we go, the easiest one first:

All Blacks will beat Argentina. We haven't had such an easy knockout game since we met France in ... nah just kidding... The ABs will not take this game easy. Slade, after a week of practice as the number one will finally turn in the assured performance we are looking for. ABs by 20+

France vs England. I'm going with France because I drew them in the office sweep  Embarrassed   France by 7

SA vs Australia. Australia are a big threat - coming back to health at the right time. The Boks are coming out of a match with Samoa that was more like a war. If the Boks maintain that forward intensity they will win. Australia can match it, but not for more than about 45 minutes I think. Assuming the Boks don't leak tries, I think it will be Boks by 3.

Ireland vs Wales. One to watch. Frankly I am picking a number out of a hat. Wales by 7.

Fair enough that you picked Aust, but I think the Boks have only looked poor occasionally due the quality of opposition - and they still won every game while Australia didn't.

Or FRA Vs WAL
                 NZ Vs AUS

I can't really can't see england winning another game the only doubt being the French turning up with the pub team, wales will scrape past Ireland, and Australia will do the same against the Saffers.  The only doubt with Australia was the slip against Ireland. I will be most un-happy if we (Wales) don't make the last four. If their was an award for most improved N/H side at this tournament Wales would be the worthy winners.

With all due respect the Argies are out.

I want the "last laugh" so much you would not believe. Wink

I just can't see england going any further with players like Steve"fatty" Thompson and Toby"ladyboy"Flood.
but we must remember they were dire last time and remember what happened.

NZ v SA ,  Eng v Wales

Argentina have looked woeful and clueless against "minnows" would pick NZ to not only win this but would penn in bonus point wins for next years quadnations as well.

South Africa have been naming consistant sides and have had some fairly decent opposition in their pool. They looked to improve each game. Aussies haven't played together much as a result of their injuries and had no answer to the Irish superiority in their pack and scrum. The Jarpies can score tries when they want to, so would have them pipping the Aussies in the closest quarter.

England are "playing the dark horse but aren't fooling me, I thought they coulda put the Scots away whenever they wanted to. France are crap and have internal problems to boot they will need considerable help from the officials to compete.

Wales over Ire on the strength of their performance over Fiji. 2nd closest quarter.

Opinions are like bums; everybody's got one.........

I thought SA started red hot against Wales and Samoa and then just faltered as the game wore on (maybe the age thing).

They beat Wales because the Welsh simply choked and they beat Samoa thanks to the aid of some terrible reffing.

I can't see either of the above saving them against Aus (especially without that bloody Frans Steyn knocking them over from 60m)

They have a knack for it. remember their abismal soccer WC team they fielded after winning it? if memory serves they did not even clear the pool stages.
