Well something unknown throughout Marc Lievremont carear as France's coach has occured:

He named the same side two weeks in a row.   Huh  Huh  Huh  Huh

France: Maxime Medard, Vincent Clerc, Aurelien Rougerie, Maxime Mermoz, Alexis Palisson, Morgan Parra, Dimitri Yachvili, Imanol Harinordoquy, Julien Bonnaire, Thierry Dusautoir (c), Lionel Nallet, Pascal Pape, Nicolas Mas, William Servat, Jean-Baptiste Poux

Reserves: Dimitri Szarzewski, Fabien Barcella, Julien Pierre, Louis Picamoles, Francois Trinh-Duc, David Marty, Cedric Heymans, Fulgence Ouedraogo, Jean Marc Doussain

I'm still tipping the Welsh

I dunno. This is a difficult one as you have two teams that can often blow hot and cold. Wales do look the more consistent team this time around. But as much as I'm hopeful for Wales, I think that the French have a great record against them and will play a form of rugby that ANY team in the world struggles with if it actually "clicks".

The biggest worry I have for Wales is that they may have flattered to deceive against us (Ireland). Gatland has been developing a strategy to deal with Ireland over the last number of years and, once he got ROG at 10, his gameplan absolutely overwhelmed us in a number of areas.

BUT despite everything Wales got right against us, they still struggled to get their hands on the ball for most of the first 50 mins. If France get that much possession then you can't help but feel they will do alot more damage out wide via Clerc, et al. Ireland just kept going from ruck to ruck lobbing the ball to their most obvious ball-carriers and watching them get chopped down and beaten up for 60 mins. Out the backline we were very impotent. France most likely won't do anything like that.

Team to face France, Leigh Halfpenny (Cardiff Blues); George North (Scarlets), Jonathan Davies (Scarlets), Jamie Roberts (Cardiff Blues), Shane Williams (Ospreys); James Hook (Perpignan), Mike Phillips (Bayonne); Gethin Jenkins (Cardiff Blues), Huw Bennett (Ospreys), Adam Jones (Ospreys), Luke Charteris (Dragons), Alun Wyn Jones (Ospreys), Dan Lydiate (Dragons) Sam Warburton (Cardiff Blues, capt), Toby Faletau (Dragons).

Bench: Lloyd Burns (Dragons), Paul James (Ospreys), Bradley Davies (Cardiff Blues), Ryan Jones (Ospreys), Lloyd Williams (Cardiff Blues), Stephen Jones (Scarlets), Scott Williams (Scarlets)

Not feeling as confident as the Ireland game, we have lost 6 from the last 7 encounters Hook replaces the injured Priestland at 10. A really tough one to call I just hope we can frustrate their attack which may lead to in-discipline in the French. I will play safe and say us, but only just.

A shame about Priestland.

I'm still betting on the Welsh based on their consistency at this RWC.

Wales are good and its good to see them back in the penthouse. But France have been here many times they know what it takes to win Semi Finals, heck they have won as many as the All Blacks, there so close to the line, and Wales cannot beat the All Blacks in a final, France on the other had probably could.

Cannot beat the All Blacks, bollocks  we can beat anyone, how come I here you say because even when we were crap we were quite good. If we bump the French as I expect, I won't be loosing not one iota of sleep. Can you say the same!!!

The laxative of NZ fate at the RWC can not come soon enough for some people.  They care chocked up tighter than, actually I don't think there is anything more wound up and nervous than a kiwi at the moment.

In your dreams Geeves. I've seen your GAGR site that you keep sending us to. There are lot of Aussies there more wound up than anyone I've met.

The people I mix with who even care about rugby hope that your upstarts go down in flames, but most don't care and none of them are losing sleep.

swisstoni I was disappointed to see gluck dismissing your team. I think they are bloody good. Good luck and we'll see you in the final  Cheesy

H/T Wrong decision in the context of the situation there was no intent just a little bit over enthusiastic, why ruin a perfectly good tournament.

I am totally sickened, 10 minutes in the bin was fair, I seriously doubt the integrity of Allain Rolland and question his ability to ref at this level, I feel we are about to be robbed.

Gutted for the Welsh, but I can't blame Rolland - he had a good game. The card could have been red or yellow, although frankly when it is that early in the game you tend to expect yellow.

The red should have ruined the game, but the Welsh showed they were the genuine contender in that game. France did nothing, and really they have only looked good once in the tournament - against an equally poor English side.

I have resisted those who said that tomorrows game is the "real" final, but with Wales out and France piss poor... I think tomorrow is the real final now..

Sure France has beaten us in a couple of big games in the past, but whether it's ABs or WBs next week, France will be out-classed.

3rd vs 4th will be a much closer game.

Tough luck swiss toni, I'm not surprised you felt ill - it's never fun to watch your side lose against an inferior team.

Over 10 yrs Imanol, a Basque Hero,  has prevailed. If coaches had had a "wet weather" gameplan for Michalak, then no Pommie 03 win.

Hope best/most skilful player lb for lb (slightly better than Rich) gets to take home Bill

Tomorrow is the final, absolutely no doubt as with the South Africa game we missed crucial kicks that would have won the game.

The better side lost and we all lost what would have been a more closely contested final.
