It's all fun until someone gets hurt

I managed to see the 3v4 playoff as well as the final at the weekend and was hugely impressed with Eden Park. The temporary stands at each end really close the ground in and create a cauldron. I completed the fan trail on Friday as well.....walking from the fan zone all the way up to Eden Park.....was a really neat experience.

We visited a few pubs in Kingsland before Fridays game and I was really impressed by how many Bok fans were around. A lot of them had bought semi + final packages and had left SA knowing that their team were flying home. Without fail they were all in really good spirits....having decided to make the best of things, they all commented on what a great time they had in NZ and how they would all be supporting the ABs in the final.

As for the final.....well I could barely eat or drink at all on Sunday. Got to the ground with plenty of time to spare and just soaked up the atmos. Really impressed with the crowd reception for Stephen Donald....he got a great cheer which must have helped. Felt that the game was getting awfully similar to Cardiff midway through the second spell but they missed touch with a penalty and I think that might have turned the game. A feeling of intense relief swept the ground at the final whistle and it was fantastic to see the emotions and complete delight for the players.

I'm now trying to figure out how to get to England for 2015
