...the S12 starts!

From all reports Jade is almost a sellout for the opener against the Hurricanes.

I still feel in a cricket mood a bit though, especially with the Black Caps doing so well at the moment in SA.

Anyone else reckon it still feels strange playing rugby this time of year?

cheers

The broadcasters feel that they have to encourage open hostility between regions to kickstart the S12 - mainly to ensure the advertisers are happy.

I can feel a rant coming on... Angry

I'm picking that the "bitterly cold" Southerly they are predicting to blow through Canterbury tomorrow will get you into a rugby mood.  There's nothing like driving rain and a bit of cold to drive the cricket out of you...!

But even so, until the Cricket World Cup is over with, or at least NZ's involvement in it, rugby is sort of on hold a bit.

Cheers,

Wobbly.

Yeah it does, thanks for that. Does anyone actually believe there is any real provincial 'hatred'? I know theres the whole Canty vs Auckland thing, but it's hardly on the scale of the dispute over the west bank and gaza is it?

Ever heard of someone getting beaten up because they supported the wrong team? OK, maybe its happened once or twice, but its not like the football thugs you find here in the UK. I've cheered loudly for canterbury playing wellington in wellington bars, and theres never been more than a sporting rivalry between supporters, with the actual battle taking place on the field.

Although, a wise man once told me that, after a series of poor refereeing decisions, the south island would secede from the north...
